I have embarked on a project to design a mouthpiece equipped with a bite sensor, aimed at pitch control - similar to the functionality of the Yamaha WX5 wind controller. While I previously engaged with the WX5 and VL-70m synthesizer set up years ago, I have lately relied on automatic LFO vibrato like what EWI does. I now aspire to craft a revised iteration of my augmented YDS-digital saxophone, integrating this capability.
This endeavor seeks to empower saxophonists to emulate authentic pitch bending and vibrato akin to traditional saxophone techniques.
Currently in the initial ideation phase, I will periodically share updates on my progress here. Stay tuned for further developments.
