I have been working on sound improvement on SWAM IOS instrument , especially SWAM Tenor. I came up with setting up another iPAD Air connected with a Solid Static Logic 2 audio interface as DAW (audio, video recording) . My old iPAD Air runs the SWAM tenor app with multiple sound effects , connected to a Fosi Audio DS1 DSD512 HiFi USB C DAC (ES9038Q2M chip). The Fosi DAC audio outs are connected to SSL2 audio inputs by two balanced cables. The SSL2 adds extra distortion and harmonic on original SWAM tenor sound. This setting is very helpful to achieve good digital saxophone tone for recording as well as live performance.

Does this solve the issue you mentioned with fattening your sound on a PA? I got my homebrew bite sensor working now. Loving the SWAM sax set. I'm now making my own sax midi controller design. I have the electronics V.1 complete. Have a look. Thanks for sharing!
